new graphic card for Mac Pro 2008 3.1

Hi guys, I have a macPro with a Nvidia GTX 285 1Gb ram card, I would like to change it with something more powerful at least with 2Gb ram. Do you know which one should I get?

Thanks a lot!

Mac Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5), iPhone 5 16gb

If you want to go with an ATI card, there is a 3GB option.

Other World Computing (long time Mac 3rd party reseller) is offering the ATI Sapphire HD7950 Mac Edition.

No need to flash this graphics card and though it's a little pricey (at just under $480), OWC will buy back your original Mac Pro card to lessen the blow to your wallet. I replaced the ATI Radeon HD 5870 that came with my 2010 MacPro and OWC bought back the old card for $200. Good performance boost in both Mavericks & Windows 7 and it runs quiet.

Which means you don't get as much return in performance in a 2008 as 2010/2012.

And there are more affordable and some go PC route $200
