How do I remove Mackeeper so pop ups stop?

I have a MacBook Air OS X 10.9.5. Mackeeper keeps opening as an additional page and I am also struggling with lots of other little pop ups. Very annoying. I also can't open pdf files. They just open as a black screen. Previous help on this issue didn't work for me. Couldn't find any of the files listed.

PLEASE HELP!

Hello eilisD,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

I see from your post that you are having issues with MacKeeper popups on your MacBook Air. One of our MVP's wrote up a great user tip about MacKeeper, including information on how to uninstall it. I highly recommend you give it a look.
