Black screen on a G4 Cube and Apple display

Hi,

I bought from eBay a G4 Cube with a 17" CRT Apple display that is powered by an ADC cable. The vendor certified that it is a working kit, so...

When I open the Cube and display, the display stay black. What could be the problem?

That's the first Mac I have with an ADC display, so I' not really sure of what to do.

A discharged internal memory battery (from the Mac not being plugged into AC power) can cause this problem. See Mac PRAM, NVRAM, CUDA/PMU & Battery Tutorial

Before you buy another battery, try some of the other procedures (zap PRAM, reset PMU)/tips on this site.

Something that just get to mind, I don't even hear the startup shime when I start the computer, is it normal?

I can hear that the HD and CD-ROM are spinning, but nothing more.

I tried reseting the PRAM, with the keyboard conencted to the display, but nothing different happen.

I tried pluggin a LCD VGA display, the keyboard directly into the Cube, and the result is the same. Nothing...

Finally, what is did was quite simple!

I did remove the battery and waited a few minutes before replacing it back. Then, the computer booted normally and it is working perfectly now.

So you were on the right track, thanks for your help.
