CleanMyMac has modified OS X behavior. Can't recover ...

Following update to OS X 10.10.2 in January, I asked CleanMyMac to suppress language files I don't need plus any files proposed as standard by CleanMyMac.

Right after that my MacBook Air showed a modified behavior in Safari and stopped replying to the "about this Mac" and App Store commands in Apple menu.

I tried restoring the system from a recent Time Machine folder without success.

Anything I could do ?

MacBook Air, OS X Yosemite (10.10.2)

CleanMyMac, MacCleanser, MacKeeper, and any other such 100% garbage should never be used. Per what you mention, and is actually pretty common for these pieces of junk, it trashed your system.

Uninstall CleanMyMac, never install it again.

Restart in Recovery Mode and reinstall the OS.
