Going through my iCloud preferences in Yosemite:

1. Why is there a section for iTunes Movie Trailers?

2.What is the Backups for? What is it backing up?

iTunes Movie Trailers are for the iMovie Theater - storing your iMovie projects in iCloud, see: PH14737
The backups are used, if you backup your mobile devices to iCloud, see this link: iCloud: Backup and restore overview

Thanks for providing the links. For clarification:

Will Backups:

1. Restore all the apps on my iPad if I have to reset it?

2. Will it restore the location of all of my apps on each of my home screens?

3. Will it restore email settings, and login info for apps?
