I tuned on Home Sharing on my iPod Touch and iMac. It took a while for the iPod to load it, but if finally finished and the iMac's library appears.
However, when I go to play a song, it just runs through the list of songs for the artist, but never plays one. The songs just fly by without stopping.
Very strange, and I can't figure out a solution.

Update: I restarted my iPod Touch.
When I went to access the Music Library on the iMac, it restarted the laborious time-consuming rebuiilding process. Any ideas?

I want to say you should try rebuilding your iTunes library database (it is most likely corrupted). There are a few ways to accomplish this, but with varying consequences. For the most part, you lose play counts, ratings, sync data, and probably a few other things.

I suspect that a non-playing Home Shared audio appears the same as a missing music in the database because it's most likely missing some metadata in the database file. This should be the last resort since it resets so many things but it should work.
