Q: What procedure
This is sent on an older mac.
I have an iMac about 4 years old (the most recent version of Yosemite) which has never worked satisfactorily.
Some difficulties are with Safari and the Finder that can be so slow that it can take few hours to refresh but the worst is restarting.
Sometime, mainly after a power failure, it is stock about one third of the progress bar. I keep trying and, eventually, after few hours or few days it will work without explanation.
Here is what I do:
-A command-R and fix permission and the disk.
-A command-option-P-R wait for 3 restarts. (very difficult for someone handicapped like I am)
-Remove the power for 1 minute.
-Usually, when it work, the secondary screen light up after about 5 minutes past the third on the progress bar.
What I want to know is if there are some other thing to try and when to wait or to try other thing.
iMac (27-inch Late 2009), OS X Yosemite (10.10.2)
