My apple ID is my AOL email. I can't remember my password, and when I try to reset it, I don't get an email to my AOL email account. Help?

My apple ID is my AOL email. I can't remember my password, and when I try to reset it, I don't get an email to my AOL email account.


Let's say my AOL email is, for example, john@aol.com. When I go to reset my password, I type that in, and select "Email authentication". I assume I'm supposed to get an email to john@aol.com, right? I am not receiving that email. I'm confused because I get Apple and iCloud notifications to that AOL email about my Apple account, but not to reset my password? What should I do?

Depending on how you have your Apple ID set up, reset or security related emails may either be sent to your primary or your rescue email address.
