iTunes freezing after upgrade to 12.1.1.4

It isn't running on my machine, but presumably you can kill it from the services control panel - services.msc - or the processes tab of the Task Manager. Try right-clicking on the iTunes shortcut and using Run as administrator to see if it is any better behaved.

It was perfectly working since (i think) my computer made an automatic windows update recently.

When i plug the iphone via the USB cable, then on iTunes, the iphone appears grey then instantly iTunes crash without quitting. If i unplug the iphone then iTunes is working again.

I tried several things :
- Reinstall and repair itunes

- CCleaner on the registry
- Relaunch mobile device services
- Kill APSDaemon.exe- Tried also to sync Mini Ipad + ipad air > does not work
- Change USB cable and port
- shut down and restart windows
- hard reset
- update my phone to latest IOS (via wifi)
- Launch iTunes in admin mode

NOTHING WORKS!

I Am having the same problem. I know Windows installed some updates after I upgraded to the latest version of iTunes and wonder if that had some thing to do wit h the problem?

I'm having a similar problem. I opened my iTunes after the update and it doesn't work now. I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it to no avail. I have shut down and restarted. It freezes and says iTunes isn't working.. It's really making me mad because this is all my music. I don't know what else to do. I have tried downloading the older version for the 32-bit Windows Vista but it doesn't work. My computer is only 32-bit and the new update is for 64-bit. I don't know. Any help would be appreciated.

Same thing happening here. I just upgraded my computer, installing the latest version of iTunes and now cannot get it to work. Keep having to go to Task Manager and close the program because it's frozen up. I thought it had something to do with upgrading from a Windows 7 32-bit to a 64-bit machine, but I see I'm not the only one having the issue.

Another fact: before when i launched iTunes, it used to do an automatic search for update, not each time but often. Then now nothing. So i tried to launch manually the search for update but of course i have the latest release of iTunes.

I also posted a similar message on a specialised forum in Belgium... no answer yet.

So? Does anybody has a solution / idea on this particular issue?

Well it says above that the problem was solved and it has to do with USB 3.0 vs USB 2.0. Mine last worked on my old computer using 2.0 and the problem only started when I upgraded my computer which now has USB 3.0 ports. I have a PCI card with USB 2.0 ports ordered. Should be here by Friday. I can let you know if that works for me or not.

I do not follow, where do you see that the issue was solved? i even do not find the deal with USB 2.0 / 3.0? where can i read this in the thread?

I have both USB 2/3 on my workstation and i've tested both. Nothing changed. iTunes is always freezing / crashing as soon as i plug the iPhone 6.

I also tried your point with APSDeamon.exe, in my case there's no change at all. iTune continues to freeeze.
