I have all my home movies stored on my mac in .cdr format. I would like to burn some of them to a DVD that can be used in a DVD player.

A .cdr file is also .iso . The suffixes are interchangeable.
How did you create the .cdr disk? It's important to know where it came from in the first place. Is it an image you made with Disk Utility from a homemade movie DVD? Or was it originally a folder full of raw footage from a digital video camera, or VHS (or similar) converted to digital?
