Q: Logic Crashing On Opening Please Help!
OK I have the latest drivers for my Duet II, and the latest Logic, and using OS X 10.10.2
I have used Logic daily for years with few problems.
In the last couple weeks, I have begun to experience a strange problem. Some Logic files will open, and others, will instantly hang until a "Not Responding" messages shows up in the FORCE QUIT dialog. At this point, the Apogee Duet II interface becomes distorted, and has to be reset. Then in SOUND in System Prefs, the output has been incorrectly set somewhere else other than the DUET. Upon resetting the Duet and the sound panel, this usually solves the distortion in the Duet.
Then I try to open another Logic file and the whole thing starts over again. OR...I get lucky and a file opens OK.
I did take one of the Logic X files and send it to another of my computers which is not as updated, it has a bit older of a System on it, but does not have a DUET attached to it. So I opened the problem file on that system, and it opened fine. Just to make sure, while it was open on that system, I deleted several instances of plug ins like Guitar Rig and a couple of older plugs I no longer use. When I sent this new altered file back to my original "problem" computer, it opened the files fine. I am beginning to wonder if these problem files are hosting plug ins that are causing all of this.
Is there a way to DISABLE ALL PLUG INS upon opening a file in Logic?
Thanks for any ideas, this is really a pain!

Tom, you might try one of these modifier key combinations when opening Logic.
