iphone/ipad Airplay icon disappeared after upgraded to ios 8.2

Connection of my iphone 6 / ipad mini 2 to AppleTV 3rd gen. was good until I upgraded them to ios 8.2 yesterday. Airplay icon is disappeared on both devices. Cannot sync anything to TV screen now... Sure, they are all on the same network. Very frustrating.

Hi From home screen on iPad swipe up to control panel Air play is on the right. Cheers Brian

Thanks Brian. I did swipe as usual but the Airplay icon just didn't show up.

Apple TV security update and iPad iOS 8.2 have BROKEN AirPlay completely!

I also had AirPlay icon disappear after installing latest software on Mac and iPad. This sequence got it back for me

Restart iMac and iTunes, make sure Home Sharing is turned on.
restart iPad and make sure Home Sharing is set up and on.
go to settings on apple TV and restart - use the setting, not just power cycle.

T The AirPlay icon should now be present.

i Tried other restart sequences before this but only this one worked for me.

Problem finally solved! I updated the latest version for AppleTV and then have everything restarted including router. Might be AppleTV system has to be 7.1 to work well with iOS 8.2. Thanks meljturner
