No audio running Windows 8.1 under Boot Camp. Red light in Headphone socket.

I have a 15" i7 2.5GHz 16GB RAM 512GB SSD running Windows 8.1 under Boot Camp and Yosemite. Audio works for Yosemite. No audio in Windows, and there is a red light in the headphone socket. I tried plugging and unplugging headphone jack 5 times. No good.

I have Geforce but I don't game. Nvidia.

Should I try using the Cirrus Logic driver that others have recommended for similar issues, or is there something else?

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014)

"Red light in headphone socket" means it is still stuck in Optical out mode.

If five times did not work, try a different plug or try 10 times.

I tried a different set of headphones 20 times, and it still doesn't make a sound, and the red light is still on.

The issue is now resolved. I can't say whether it was due to a Boot Camp update or Windows 10 update (both happened simultaneously) but I'm happy to say that all is now well.
