Q: wifi network breaks when hdmi extender starts

hi i have:

- new airport time capsule: this is connected to the ISP router and internet setting is bridge

- 2 gigabit switches (connected to the airport)

- transmitter and receiver hdmi lindy 38127 (connected to the switch)
- network is made by only cat.6 cables
when the transmitter is working and sending out the video/audio signal through the network, then wifi of the airport stop working. no iphone nor ipad are abe to connect to the airport time capsule.
meanwhile the network by cable is working properly, all other conncted device are working fine: they can go on internet and they can stream movies from nas....
please help, maybe i need to do some settings.

    The video sender is probably using the same frequencies as the Wifi causing interference.

     

    These devices are not meant to effect each other, however it is possible that it causes issues on wifi. You could try changing the wifi channel settings on the base station/ router however it may be that the video sender broadcasts across the whole wifi range, effecting all channels. The sender may also have options to change the frequency it uses - read the manual for that info.

     

    Bear in mind that this will also be happening to any neighbours you have in range - this device could be considered a wifi jammer - some countries may consider that illegal, at the very least it would be annoying.

    transmitter and receiver are connected by cable and not by wifi.

    moreover there is the router provided by ISP has also a wifi that keep working even when the transmitter starts to work.

    the only thign that stops is the wifi of the airport.

    Apologies I thought it was a wireless video sender.

    Sorry I don't know enough about Airport or this device, see if Lindy have any support or forums.

     

    Apple have this info for diagnosing wifi issues, but I think it may be something else in your case.
