The songs I just bought are playing as cartoon sound effects!

I just downloaded 5 new songs to my 2nd generation shuffle. Instead of the songs, they are playing as cartoon sound effects, like bells ringing and whistles. Even when I try to jump forward or backwards, the sound effects are playing, so it might be displacing the songs I already had on, which is nearly 200. And apparently I'm not allowed to have any tech support from ITunes because my shuffle is old. How can I get rid of these sound effects, make sure I haven't gotten a virus and that I get my money back on the songs I was intending to buy?
