Mar 13, 2015 4:14 PM in response to pplantsby Allan Eckert,I wonder ho you got an early 80s Intel iMac when Apple only made the shift from PowerPC to Intel in late 2005 and early 2006.
Please clarify exact what the model number is for this iMac.

Mar 13, 2015 4:14 PM in response to pplantsby Niel,There are no early 1980 Macs. If you mean an early 2008 iMac, click here and see the video.

Mar 13, 2015 4:53 PM in response to Nielby pplants,I did mean 2008. Thanks for the link. Got a crucial 2 channel kit thinking I would add them to the original 1 gig in the computer but the videos show people taking out the original, making the 3 gig I wanted (so I can install Yosemite) only 2 gig which I don't know if will work because some of it will be used up. I want to try to install but am afraid if I do and its not enough, they won't take it back. Oh, in case anyone wondering .... I have no experience at doing stuff to computers at all ... none. Its frustrating. I can build houses, cabinets, anything about and this Imac scares me to death, lol. And I bought Crucial memory because guy at Apple store said very good and cheaper. Thank you

Mar 13, 2015 4:55 PM in response to pplantsby Niel,★Helpful2GB of RAM isn’t enough to effectively run Yosemite. Return it and get a single 4GB module or a 6GB package.
