I Have several apps that are no longer showing after the recent OS update. They have been showing Pending Update for a month or so. I cannot update them because there is no update option. I can no longer use the apps because they disappeared although they still show in Settings On my IPAD Air.

Not sure why those apps are no longer on your iPhone, or why there's no update button.
Have you tried downloading them from the Purchased area or from a computer with iTunes?
Download past purchases - Apple Support
Download previous purchases on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
Make sure your iOS device meets these system requirements:
- iOS 4.3.3 or later
- You need iOS 5 or later to download items to iPhone (CDMA model).
- iBooks 3.0 or later to download books
Apps
- Tap App Store.
- If you're using an iPhone or iPod touch, tap Updates, then tap Purchased.
- If you're using an iPad, tap Purchased.
- Find the item that you want to download.
- Tap the Download
icon. After the app downloads, you can open it from the Home screen.

TThanks so much for your help. I did that with my IPhone and it worked. But doesn't on IPad. See be,ow in the Purchased App section there is not a little download cloud by HBO, Netflix or Amazon.
if I try to go download again fresh as if I am doing it for first time. Same thing.
