Q: Mid 2010 MacBook Pro Battery Issue
I recently acquired a MacBook Pro 2010 (still in great shape I might add!). I updated the system to OS X Yosemite and replaced the battery. Now instead of the battery indicator reaching zero it reaches 8% and shuts down. Is there anyway I can recalibrate the battery?

Apple considers any battery that requires a screwdriver to remove a Mac's rear case as "built-in" or non-removable:

Non-removable batteries
MacBook, MacBook Air, and MacBook Pro computers with built-in batteries should only have their batteries replaced by an Apple Authorized Service Provider or Apple Retail Store. Attempting to replace a built-in battery yourself could damage your equipment, and such damage is not covered by warranty.
Mac notebooks with built-in batteries:
- All MacBook Air computers
- All MacBook Pro computers with Retina display
- MacBook (13-inch, Late 2009 and later)
- MacBook Pro (Early 2009 and later)
