Q: ibook g3 secure erase

I'm about to sell my iBook g3. How do I erase the hard disc securely?

iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9), iMac 27, 8MB RAM,iPhone 4S

    With access to a system CD, it is possible to use Drive Setup or Disk Utility (depending on the operating system version) to securely erase a hard disk. Which iBook G3 model is it? Do you have a system disc? Without a system CD, you may want to try a web search for an older PowerPC version of a free utility called DBAN (a bootable disc can be created from a downloadable iso file).
