iPad Air 2 continually disconnecting from home wifi

My wife has the iPad Air 2. We bought it new at Costco a few months ago. Since then I upgraded my twc modem Modem Router combo Arris/Motorola SBG6850. she was still having problems so I added a Netgear wifi extender to try to eliminate this problem. Still while playing her games she looses connection continuously. we live in a 1700 square foot house and the modem/router is on the oposit end of the house. The extender is in the same room where we use internet wirelessly. The rokus in our house have no problem connecting to the home wifi in the same room so what is the problem with the iPad. That is my question. I am racking my brain over this on going problem.

Hi, stave49.

Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.

I understand that you are experiencing issues with your new iPad Air 2 dropping from Wi-Fi. Wireless troubleshooting can be difficult at times as there are multiple factors that can cause one device to experience this behavior but not others. I have the exact same modem/router from TWC and have ran into this issue myself. Try adjusting both the routers to the recommend settings outlined below. Also, make sure all firmware updates have been processed.

iOS and OS X: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points

If you are still experiencing this issue, take a look at the troubleshooting article below.

If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won’t connect to a Wi-Fi network

If the issue still persists, could you reply back with the model of your Netgear router?
