Mar 14, 2015 1:42 PM in response to furkaby babowa,★HelpfulPreview is an app in your Applications folder and is the default to open pdf's, jpeg's, etc. I also use it to make simple edits on them.
Odd that it wouldn't open - what type of document is it? I have to go through loops to get my downloaded financial statements to open in Preview.

Care to share which OS you are using?
===========
When posting in Apple Communties/Forums/Message Boards.......It would help us to know which Mac model you have, which OS & version you're using, how much RAM, etc. You can have this info displayed on the bottom of every post by completing your system profile and filling in the information asked for.
Click on your name Welcome "your name."
Click on your name link
Click on the BIO tab. Scroll down to the bottom till you see "My Products." This is the section where you can edit your profile.

Mar 14, 2015 1:46 PM in response to furkaby Old Toad,Preview is the Apple application designed for viewing pdf and a variety of image files. Did you move the file to the Desktop and try to open it from there? Another possible method of viewing what's inside is to select the file and tap the Spacebar on the keyboard to start Quickview.
Do you have Acrobat Reader? You can try it. It should be a free download from Adobe.
