Missing all books in my Kindle app on my iPad

All of a sudden I am missing all my book purchases in my Kindle app on my iPad. I've tried removing the app and readding it, but still everything is missing. I checked in my Amazon account and all the books are still there...how do I get them back on my iPad? It seemed to happen at the same time Kindle updated their app and I downloaded the new software update for my iPad. Could there be a connection?

Did you tap on Cloud at the bottom to see all of the books that are in the cloud? After you see the books in the cloud, tap on one of them to download it.did you try going to Amazon.com, sign into your account, tap on Your Account at the top and from the drop down menu, tap on Manage your Content and Devices. That will take to a list of all of your purchased books. Tap on the Select square, then tap on Deliver and select the device on which you want to download the selected book.

This is exactly what I did...I had Amazon called me back (as a side note, that works very slick! You type in your number and indicate for them to call you right away...and they did! I'm very impressed). The problem has been solved. I knew all my book purchases were still under my account at Amazon, because I saw them there. For some unexplained reason, my Kindle app on my iPad was wrong. I was never able to log in again until I actually removed my account on my Kindle and logged back in. They didn't know how this happened since I never changed anything in my Kindle app.

All is well that ends well. Thanks for all the suggestions.

And you did try the instructions that I posted in my first post? If you did and they didn't work, then you made the correct move in contact Amazon support which I think you already said that you did.

BTW, I updated my iPad and the Kindle app and I am not having any issues. I'm not sure that there is a connection, but anything is possible.

You cannot lose purchased books in Amazon.com. They are always available to download again once you have purchased them. If you feel safer about it, wait until you here from Amazon support before you do anything else.

There is something else that you can try that will not hurt anything or cause you to lose anything either. Close the Kindle app, and reset the iPad. Maybe refreshing the app will let the books download again.

In order to close apps, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the Kindle app, and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.

In order to reset the iPad. Hold down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple logo appears on the screen after which time you can release the buttons and let the iPad start up.

It will be quicker to phone Amazon or get them to phone you back as replying to emails can take ages, there will be a 'contact us' button somewhere on your account or under the help section.

Is the iPad connected to wifi & is the Kindle app registered to the correct Amazon account & hasn't become deregistered?

When you look at your account & choose to send a book to the device make sure the correct device is listed in the send to box, if it still doesn't arrive & you have stable wifi then the iPad may be registered to a different account.

I had the same problem when I upgraded to the iPhone 7, except the Kindle app was only selectively showing about 7 of the 26 books I had purchased. If I went to search for a missing title in the book browser, it would let me download that individual book, but no amount of refreshing/syncing would bring back the full list. The solution was to go under Settings>Registration and "Deregister this Kindle". I then restarted the app and logged back in with my Amazon account. Problem solved.
