where can I obtain discs for an iMac g5

Hi, I have recently been given an immaculate 17" iMac G5. Unfortunately I am unable to do very much with it as the previous owner has messed about with the software, by dek\leting some stuff and adding other useless stuff. I was thinking that If I am able to obtain the appropriate discs that I may be able to reinstall the "new" software and get my G5 back. Does this sound possible ar is their a better way?

The maximum OS supported for the 17" iMac G5 is 10.5.8. You can contact Apple and ask if they can provide you with a 10.5 install disc. If not, you may purchase a disc from Amazon. After 10.5 is installed, you can download and install the combo update. Let us know if you have further questions.
