Safari authentication prompt on MAC machines

Hi All,

Many users in our organization uses MAC machines. Users have different versions of MAC such as OS X 10.8, 10.9 and latest version 10.10.
However, after log in with user credentials they can access the SharePoint 2013 site.

We also have Windows machines where when users logins it directly access SharePoint without asking for username and passwords as its using single sign on. To reproduce the same authentication issue, we tried simulate on OS 10.10 and Safari version 8.0.2. While accessing the SharePoint 2013 site, we did get authentication prompt. So we assumed that other earlier versions of OS X might have same issue.

The SharePoint Server & configuration was performed by another partner and we are not supposed to interfere authentication mechanism.

Does MAC are not able to authenticate SharePoint 2013?

Does Apple has has addressed this issue or any knowledge base article from apple to resolve this issue?

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advanced.
