SSD upgrade Crucial MX100

Hi,

I would like to upgrade to a SSD. I have a 13'' MacBook Pro early 2011, 2.3GHz Intel Core i5. It's the first time I upgrade a computer and want to make sure I am buying a compatible drive. Would this Crucial MX100 256 GB 2.5'' fit in my mac?

Thank you very much,

Catherine

So just reading through the reviews there on this SSD all the 5 stars seem very good. I searched specifically for "Mac".

Most of the one star reviews mention the "Acronis software provided by Crucial" so probably best to avoid that.

Personally I'm very partial to OWC:

I actually have the exact same model as you. I put a 120 SSD and bumped the RAM to 8 GB all from OWC.

I've done 5 machines so far all w/ parts from OWC. I did have a minor problem with the last one w/ it not being recognized by Disk Utility and when I called OWC they immediately offered me a return bar code. I sorted out the problem and it's been working fine.

You just need to figure if the $27.99 difference is worth the savings. In the OWC case you'd have someone to call immediately if you had a problem.
