Macbook 13 Inch Pro Retina 2015

Hi All

Anyone here got a New Macbook Pro 13 Inch 2015 which was released this week?

I got it and 2nd day I found loud fan noise and contacted customer support, they asked me to use it for couple of days to monitor if this issue surfaces.

Anyone else here with any experience?

Thanks

Naveen

Naveen, I had the same problem.

On the first MBP i received (I say first, because I eventually had to return in and have a replacement sent to me) the fan is unusually loud. I could hear the fan whirring and the exhaust pumping air out like I'm running a lot of applications at a go, when in fact I had only launched Settings.

I gave Apple a call and they ran through some troubleshooting (SMC reset, PRAM or something) and eventually, the fan did quieten down. As a final check, the specialist told me to reboot the computer on SafeBoot to make sure it was all running ok.

Then it happened- the screen started "misbehaving". the graphics were distorted, like horizontal blinds moving up in waves over and over before it settled down into SafeBoot. I got transferred to Technical Assistance and from there, I worked with other specialist and spent 2 entire days troubleshooting before it was decided I will have to have a replacement.

Guess what? the replacement (this one i'm using to type this message) has the EXACT same problems: a loud fan, graphics card problems, AND the volume is really low on this unit- at halfway past the volume rocker range, I can barely hear anything! (notifications, movies, music, videos on YouTube, etc).

I scheduled another call with Apple Support. I'm at wit's end too. Just disappointed and frustrated all mixed together. My suggestion is for you to go on SafeBoot to see if your screen also ***** up. If so, then we're in the same boat, pal. Call up Apple and inform them so they'll know this is a thing. (they classified my case as a unique and isolated case. If they get similar reports it may help them in identifying and rectifying the problem).

Thanks Thewulfe, Goldglitter

After using for a day, fan issue came up twice and decided not to wait and gave a call to Technical Assistance, she left her extension number. Since it went to voice message I drove to store from where I got it and got it replaced with another one. At Apple store they mentioned this is first and didn't heard from anyone yet but from you guys it appears to be some issue going on here.

its being few days since I got another unit, this one has been normal so far. Will keep posted if anything.

Thanks for reading

I recently bought the latest MBP with Retina Display 13" (Early 2015), 2.9 Ghz, 512GB Storage, with 8 GB (Bought it at Best Buy). Mine is pretty quiet and don't hear the fan noise when I'm using it. Obviously when I play games, it will make a loud fan noise but not an issue for me as I expect the fan to run high when playing games anyways. But otherwise it doesn't make any noise when doing normal tasks (I.E browsing, youtube, watching videos).

I have the same issue!!

Second day owner of macbook pro 13 inch early 2015 (and first time macbook owner). I was quite surprised the first time the fan kicked in. Rather quickly it starting slowing down, and I didnt think anymore of that. Today, It seems like it seems increasingly difficult for the macbook to keep a satisfying temp, as the fan will kick in, eventually slowing down, then within a few minutes starting to accelerate the fan again. Its like a roller coaster. I've have only been using it for internet browsing, very light text editing etc. so far.

I live in Denmark without any official apple stores. Do any of you guys know if apple tech assistance can grant a new macbook from the apple premium reseller?

thanks in advance!

I just picked up a 13" MBP w/Retina, 16GB RAM, 512MB SSD. First day everything was great. Second day I had the fan run high two or three times for about 30 seconds or so. I wasn't doing anything but simple browsing and installing Office 365 MAC preview. Interestingly enough, I think I noticed it most when I was on gmail. I've seen posts regarding Chome, but maybe it's a Google thing? It doesn't seem right for the investment made to have issues like this. I expected very little noise, and for the most part, it's quiet. I'll keep an eye on it, but it sounds like this is not an isolated incident.

My 13" MBP w/Retina is just like yours but with 8GB RAM. The sound I hear is for just a second or two and occurs randomly. I don't use gmail or Office 365. I have Chrome installed but have not used it on this new laptop yet. I just installed iStat Pro (widget) to monitor temperatures but have yet to see anything above 101 degrees F.
