Q: FCP X File Share Compatable with Windows Media Player

One of my kids has a school project where they are using a video they made.  Like many school's, they have Microsoft products.  We have exported the Quick Time file.  When its played on the Windows Media Player, the audio portion of the video plays, not the actual video itself.  I just purchased Compressor this morning based on reading some other posts.  Will continue to play around but if anyone has encountered a quick fix to this issue, any insights would be greatly appreciated.

More recent versions of WMP should play most mov files, depending on the codec. But…

An mp4 with h.264 codec should play on just about any Windows machine. In the Settings panel, hit the plus sign, low left, and from the drop-down, choose MPEG-4. Let us know how you make out with this.
