Loss of use of camera and torch since update

After I downloaded the new iOS to my iphone 6 it became apparent that I had lost the use of both my camera and torch. With the camera I get the whole user interface the flash on/off option switch camera around etc capture button but nothing is responsive, The screen itself shows a black screen as if its being blocked but will not respond ... I've tried closing the app in the home screen etc. General setting reset and powering phone on/off etc. Cannot use the app, no camera use on Facebook, snapchat etc.User uploaded file

Howdy Stephen,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities.

This article provides information and troubleshooting tips that can help you resolve the flashlight and black screen when attempting to use the Camera app on your iPhone 6.

You see a closed lens or black screen

If you see a closed lens or black screen when you open the Camera app, try these steps:

  1. Make sure that there’s nothing blocking the camera lens. If you’re using a case, try removing it.
  2. Force the app to close, then open the Camera app again.
  3. Restart your device, then open the Camera app again.
  4. If your device has a front and rear camera, try both cameras by tapping User uploaded file (camera swap icon). If you see the closed lens or black screen on only one camera, take your device to an Apple Retail Store or Authorized Service Provider for more help.

Cheers,

-Jason
