Q: Menu bar showing on both monitors

I just upgraded to 10.10.2 from 10.8.5. I had my external monitor set as my main monitor with the dock and menu bar on it. After upgrading, the menu bar now shows on both the external monitor and the MacBook Pro monitor, although on the MacBook Pro is grayed out until I click on it.. The dock is still on the external monitor. Could find anything in settings about this. Is this normal? Is there a way to turn it off on the internal monitor?
