ipod won't sync unknown error 69

my ipod classic 120gb will not sync. I had 8400 songs on my ipod but i noticed some songs skipped right to the next song, so i figured i would restore the ipod and sync my library again. Of course during the sync itunes froze and a dialog box popped up and said itunes couldn't sync to ........ Ipod an unknown error occured error 69
