Mar 19, 2015 10:43 PM in response to Abraham Girtby gail from maine,Or, conversely, set up a new Apple ID with the email address you want, and create a new Apple Support Community User ID to go with that Apple ID. This is not rocket science. And, as Chris said, you have been given the answer several times. Asking the question over and over is not going to change the answer.

Mar 20, 2015 5:05 PM in response to ChrisJ4203by Abraham Girt,Okay, I've tried the following steps many times, and they never worked.
In https://appleid.apple.com/account/manage, I attempted to change the email address from "ABGirt @ Gmail . com" to "ABGirt @ iCloud . com" but it gave me the error: "This email address is not available for use as an Apple ID. You may already have an Apple ID associated with this address. Please try again or sign in using your existing Apple ID."

Excerpt:
"If your email address ends with @icloud.com, @me.com, or @mac.com, it's already an Apple ID. "
This is why you cannot change the email address for your current Apple ID to the iCloud ID, because it is an Apple ID.
You can also take a look at a couple of other support documents that might help you. As Gail told you earlier, you can use the iCloud email ID for the forum if you like, rather than your other, since you have not accumulated many points it won't matter.
