Mar 18, 2015 9:03 AM in response to empoy81by sterling r,Howdy emoy81,
It sounds like you upated your iOS device to 8.2 and now you are unable to listen to your iPhone through your car due to this error message. I would recommend usin these troubleshooting steps from the following article:
Get help using your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with your car stereo
Troubleshooting tips
Try these troubleshooting tips.
Beginning playback and controlling music
Some car stereos might require that playback be started or controlled from either the device or the stereo. Ensure that your car stereo is set to the proper input for your device. If it is and you cannot hear sound from your car speakers, try switching to your radio and then back to the proper input.
When using adapters to connect to your car stereo, you might notice variations in audio quality. When possible, use a shorter connection to the car stereo or try a different cable or adapter.
Disconnect and restart
If you are experiencing difficulties with the connection between your stereo and device, disconnect the device, and then power cycle the stereo and your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad. When the Home screen reappears, reconnect your device. If you cannot power cycle the stereo, turn the car off and then back on to allow the stereo to power off.
Isolate the issue
Try to reproduce the issue with an identical or similar accessory, if one is available, or test with a second device.
For example, if you hear static coming from the left audio channel, try connecting a different device or try connecting to a different stereo or accessory that connects over the same interface (30-pin or Lightning connector, Bluetooth, or headphone jack).
Restore iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
If you have isolated an issue to the device, restore iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to its factory condition. You should rarely need to use this step with an accessory issue. If the issue affects only a third-party accessory, contact the accessory manufacturer before restoring your iOS device.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
Take care,
Sterling

Mar 18, 2015 10:09 AM in response to sterling rby IOS8issues,★Helpfulthanks for your effort
none of the Steps are helpful
this is not an issue with accessory, car or cable. This has appeared on all iPhone users I know after iOS 8.2 upgrade.
the same problem had appeared with IOS 8 upgrade and disappeared with later releases.
i am surprised why Apple can't learn from past

Mar 18, 2015 6:52 PM in response to sterling rby empoy81,Tried all of those already, aside from the restore which I won't do, and none of those works.
I agree with IOS8issues, this is clearly an iOS 8.2 issue.

Mar 19, 2015 6:33 PM in response to empoy81by LMJ912,Agree. Everything worked just fine until I upgraded to iOS 8.2. Some songs play but then I got an error message. The next time the songs that played before got an error message and other songs now worked. The next time all I got was a error message and no songs played. A fix is needed!

Mar 22, 2015 9:35 AM in response to sterling rby wbwarren357,Having the exact same problem. Right after upgrade to ioS 8.2, my iPhone 5s (which worked fine before) now will not play podcasts or music through my car radio when connected with a USB cable (with the exact same set up that I used successfully before the upgrade).

Mar 27, 2015 2:58 PM in response to wbwarren357by Podcastproblem,I Am having the same exact problem. I followed all the steps above including taking my phone to an Apple Store. I was told there that this was a "known problem" and there will hopefully be an update out soon to fix it. I have to say this has really been an inconvenience for me.

Mar 27, 2015 8:43 PM in response to empoy81by serbeer,The same happened today right after 8.2 upgrade of Ipod Touch g5. My RL2010 Acura sound system now says "No Song" when I connect it through USB cable. It was playing just fine earlier in the day before I was stupid enough to go for this upgrade. Moreover, even when I listen to my audio books on the ipod, the sound sometimes disappears, just like this, book keeps running and no sound comes out. Takes a reboot of IPod to re-gain the sound!
I basically lost ability to use my device. This is just unbelievable that Apple would release upgrade that is that problematic, on the very basic level of the device. I am not even mentioning that all "Update" buttons in Apple store for pending updates were showing as "Open" until I rebooted a few times.
What do I do now? Is there a way to downgrade back to 8.1????

Mar 27, 2015 11:06 PM in response to sterling rby ianmendonca,I can report the same issue on my iPhone 6 after upgrading to 8.2. Using a USB connection to the stereo in both my Alfa Romeo and Nissan nothing plays. Sometimes the track name is displayed, other times No Track or Media Player are displayed. Prior to the upgrade it worked flawlessly in both cars.
This is one of my main use cases for my iPhone so it's very inconvenient. Can I downgrade to 8.1?

Apr 3, 2015 3:15 PM in response to ianmendoncaby gotownchaz123,Having the exact same issue with my Yukon. Bluetooth works fine, but stereo will not recognize the music from my phone after the "upgrade" to iOS 8.2.

Apr 13, 2015 1:34 AM in response to empoy81by Alyssa2703,Mine is doing the same in Hyundai I30 except I have updated and now on iOS 8.3. Thought they would have fixed bugs by now. Only way I can get it to work is if I turn my phone off, turn it back on and plug it in whilst it is on the home screen asking for my code.

Apr 13, 2015 6:32 PM in response to ianmendoncaby Mike Raub,I had hopes for 8.3, but my 5s still won't make a USB connection to either a Porsche or a Mazda audio system no matter what I try. The files play fine from a USB stick. I sent a feedback report to Apple. I guess it makes me feel a little better that I'm not the only one suffering from this particular problem, though it's hard to imagine a problem of this type not showing up in quality control tests.
