Apr 14, 2015 10:25 AM in response to empoy81by serbeer,After updating to 8.3, my problem of connecting Ipod Touch to Acura RL 2010 through USB interface is still NOT resolved. I am still getting message about device not having any content to play (though connection itself is established). I wish I did not upgrade to iOS 8.2. Sigh.

Apr 17, 2015 7:51 AM in response to empoy81by 3trey3,This is also happening to me and my wife. We both use iPhone 5 with latest 8.3 ios, but the issue first started in 8.2 and has just gotten worse. Originally restarting phone while plugged into car would work or you could play music from phone and it worked over usb, but the menu options on car wouldn't work. Today I reset my phone and restored. Now our 2014 Yukon says device is not supported. My 2012 buick is even worse, I plugged in ios8.3 and the phone didn't work but it also caused my radio system to stop. I had to turn the car off and on to get it working again. What is going on at apple??
This is a major issue for our family (keep in perspective though please). But we do all of our music via iTunes. I was thinking I could just buy ipods for our vehicles just for music, but it looks like Apple no longer sales the ipod classics.. No way am I buying new ipods with an ios that doesn't work in 2014 and 2012 vehicles. This is really frustrating, I guess apple wants us to buy even newer cars. I am hoping there is an android app for apple music or some tool to convert all of our music to mp3 or something, we are going to look at new phone options this weekend. I opened a ticket with apple just in case they are willing to help.

Apr 17, 2015 11:09 AM in response to 3trey3by 3trey3,I don't want to get over excited, but I found this on another posting and it seems to have worked!! Both of our iphones immediately starting working again after doing this. Hopefully it isn't a false alarm, because they have worked for spurts in the past, but it really looks promising. I will post again if this didn't work, but on first testing we have music in the car again!!
1. Go to Settings > General
2. Go to Restrictions
3. Enter Passcode (possibly x2)
4. Enable Restrictions
5 Disallow CarPlay

Apr 17, 2015 6:08 PM in response to sterling rby RB from EP,I've been following these steps, and sometimes it works, but it usually doesn't, especially since upgrading to 8.3. It's really frustrating and I'm not going to leave the house early every morning just to try to get my phone to work with my car radio. I'd rather not switch to an auxiliary cable because then I have to take my eyes off the road to change songs, plus I'd need to buy a charger for my phone. I'm really disappointed that this accessory doesn't work anymore and will definitely take this into consideration when I'm eligible for an upgrade later this year.

Apr 19, 2015 9:22 PM in response to 3trey3by Mike Raub,Disabling CarPlay didn't completely fix the problem. I now seem to be able to get my audiobooks to play via Bluetooth, but only if I start the book playing on the phone. Otherwise, the car audio system claims it cannot find any playable files on the phone. The USB connection continues to find the iPhone but can neither find nor play any files.

Apr 19, 2015 9:42 PM in response to empoy81by keganx,I have found a "hack" solution. But it seems to work. (But first some background so you don't waste time testing if your situation is not the same as mine).
Background:
- My car is a Peugeot 408 Turbo.
- Connecting the iPhone/iPad (since iOS6) to the car bluetooth has never work.
- The car has a USB port. Connecting the iPhone using the USB port, I have always been able to play music from the Apple Music app.
The problem has always been that when I play a podcast from Instacast/Overcast, the podcast would play for 2-3s and quickly jump back to music. I have manage to solve this problem prior to iOS8.2, by deleting all my music from the iPhone. In this way, I have always been able to play podcast (Instacast/Overcast) in the car since iOS7.
After iOS8.2, the car seems to not be able to detect the iPhone anymore thru the USB. This is my problem. Now the "hack" solution that I have found:
1. Put one music in the Music app.
2. Then the car will be able to detect the phone and play from the Music app. (But playing podcast (Overcast) still does not work, because it will jump back to music after 2-3s.)
3. Bring up the Music app.
4. Switch to Overcast.
5. Play podcast from Overcast, and "super quickly" (in less than 2s) bring up the multitasking screen and kill the Music app.
6. Then the podcast can continue playing without jumping to music.
Hope this works for you.

May 5, 2015 9:05 AM in response to 3trey3by 3trey3,Well shoot, my wifes iPhone and my iPhone with ios8.3 latest to date still do not work via USB in our cars. I really thought it was going to because it did at first. Weird after a few days it just stops, first my wifes and then mine. I wish apple would fix it. 2014 GMC Yukon and 2012 buick. What is funny is that when we bought the Yukon, being able to listen to music from our iphones played into the decision to buy the truck. Please fix it apple.

May 22, 2015 4:52 AM in response to empoy81by catdevnull,Just thought I'd wade in here.
I've recently bought a Toyota Verso manufactured in 2014 here in the UK and had been having loads of problems with both my iPhone 6 (8.3) and wifes phone (8.2). We would see the error coming up constantly on the system:
I've since spent quite a lot of time moaning at Toyota and the dealership. As of today they've confirmed that there is a known issue with head units produced by Panasonic and iOS 8.3. I've been told by the dealership that Panasonic are working with Apple and there should hopefully be a bug fix in 8.4 when it's released.
I also found this documentation on the Panasonic site which seems to also corroborate this story:
http://microsite.panasonic.co.th/smartphone/iphone_connectivity/en/compatiblemod els.html
Hopefully this issue will get resolved in 8.4, in the mean time I'm going to see if I can get the beta version and I'll report back.
In the meantime you may want to investigate if the head unit in your vehicles is manufactured by Panasonic.
