Q: Why won't Calendar events sync from iMac to iPad?

I use iCloud to sync my Calendar between devices.  I'm currently experiencing some new and odd syncing behavior between my iMac and iPad.

Here's what is happening:

     When I add a Calendar Event to the Calendar app on my iPad, that event appears immediately, as expected, on my iMac Calendar.

     But not vice-a-versa.

     In other words, when I add an event on my iMac, that event does not appear on my iPad.

Fwiw, I do not experience this same problem with my iPhone 6;  i.e., events entered on my iMac do appear immediately on my iPhone.

What'sgoing wrong between my Mac and iPad? I've double-checked all my settings and I believe they are set correctly for iCloud syncing on all devices. Also, I have power-cycled to no avail.
