If you are forwarding text messages from your phone, on the iPhone, go to [Settings > Messages > Text Message Forwarding] here, make sure that it lists your mac (the toggle switch is on or green). If not, turn it on and enter the code on your mac on the phone.

I guess I don't know the difference between an iMessage and a text but it used to be that the texts I received on my phone also showed up on my computer. Texts just recently stopped showing up on my computer, but still good on my phone.
Thanks
No changes to iCloud, iphone or computer. Everything with the computer and phone still work properly, the messages just stopped updating.
Where would I find info on iCloud settings to make sure my phone is still linked with this computer?
Yes, thats fine, it's basically saying that iMessage was rebooted on your iPhone. (Just a safety thing). Please identify your problem. Is it: 1. iMessage not showing up. or 2. Text message forwarding not working.

Oh, and btw, an iMessage has blue texts bubbles, but texts (sms) has green bubbles.
Who knows?
Did you make any changes recently? Did you change some iCloud settings? You've given us nothing to go on.
I just went to settings, messages, and turned iMessage off then back on and got this message
Your Apple ID and phone number are now being used for iMessage on a new iPhone.
I'm on an iphone4 with ios.1.2. When i go to messages in settings there is no option for text message forwarding
Then, you weren't forwarding. If you could remember, before it stopped working, were the message bubbles blue? Did you send messages to emails?
If i remember right some were blue some green. pretty sure I've only ever texted between phones
