Q: MacBook Air does not play nice with external monitor
I have an 27 inch external monitor connected to a MacBook Pro. It is set up for two displays—built-in and external. When I close the display on the MacBook Pro, everything moves to the external display—all the open windows, all the desktop icons, and the menu bar. I thought it might go to sleep, but it didn't. Cool! This is what I want—one giant display and the unused display closed.
I connected the same monitor to my MacBook Air, configured the displays the same way, but when I close the display on the MacBook Air, it just goes to sleep. That's not what I wanted. I want it to work like it does with the MacBook Pro.
Is there some secret trick to make the Air work like the Pro?
