base models. which one would you recommend for programming. in other words does air have anything that pro lacks(f.e build quality maybe? portability not important. also it won't be my main pc so won't suffer heavy load. i'd expect notebook of that price to last without problems at least 2 years. i live in the country where i can't use apple warranty.
I would only consider the MacBook Pro. But then that just might be me because I figure if I am doing serious work I don't want anything to get in my way including the computer I am doing that work on.

yes, i think same. i guess you have pro right? have you encountered any serious issues with it? especially any hardware related ones? also would base model be good?(1299 $one because that fits nicely in my budget, i'd spend more if its too weak though)
My original one lasted for eight years before I retired it to the recyclers. The major problem was that I had newer software on my desktop and it was becoming a problem jumping back and forth between versions of software. I now have a new one which I got a couple of months ago. It is much faster then the old one.
