Podcast app ignoring iTunes summary tag

I am using the PowerPress plugin for Wordpress to generate an RSS feed for my podcast Return to Camp Blood. I have it set up to let me set a custom iTunes summary, rather than using the blog post that the audio is attached to. Everything shows up fine in iTunes. However, when I view the show notes on the Podcast app, it shows the full blog post. Is this normal, or am I messing something up?
