accessory not supported?

So recently, I had purchased a charging cord/cable from a local CVS after my recent one just dying out. Recently it has been giving me the message on my iPhone 5s 'Accessory may not be supported', this first happened last night but I switched the charging block and it worked again. But now when I got home from school it gave me the same message. I switched the block three times with the three that I have plus plugging the cable into the computer and it just will not work. I also used it on my iPod 5 and my iPad and it won't work. Will I just have to buy another new cable? Someone answer ASAP because this is making me want to scream 😠
