Mar 17, 2015 5:55 AM in response to jagannathfromanakapalleby dwb,There are two ways to run Windows on a Mac: (1) Apple's BootCamp which supports Windows Vista and higher on newer machines. See the Apple Knowledge base article for more information about what versions of Windows your computer will run in BootCamp. The advantage of BootCamp is that your computer is running Windows natively. Your Apple computer is essentially a PC running Windows. (2) Virtualization allows you to run a program that will run Windows. This is how newer Macs can run XP which, after all, is no longer supported by Microsoft. Virtualization has the advantage of letting you run more than one operating system at the same time. (With BootCamp you are either running Windows or the Mac. You have to reboot to switch.) Virtualization is somewhat slower than BootCamp but I find XP in virtualization to be as fast as it was on my old PC.
