Q: my 3gs exploded what now?

My iPhone 3gs screen started pushing out of the case and was getting worse and worse till the case wouldn't even fit so as a last effort I took it apart to find the cpu being bent like a banana. As I loosened the screw holding the processor it was flexing so hard it popped the other screws lose without even undoing them. I managed to remove the battery before it split the chip in half or set my home on fire. My question is what do I do at this point I know it's an older phone but it's still an apple product.  Also should I be concerned having another apple product that almost caused life threatening injuries and or damaged property.  Just imagine if I left it in my car.
