Q: iCloud storage

My iCloud storage is maxed. It said to delete emails to create space. I deleted thousands. Didn't get more space. Why? How do I fix this? Thanks!

    If you need to clear space from your iCloud Mail account, then please follow the directions below to delete emails from iCloud using Mail in OS X.

     

    OS X Mail: Delete the messages that you no longer want, then choose Mailbox > Erase Deleted Items and select your iCloud email account from the menu.
