My application storage is 63gb but system information says i still have 95gb free out of 120gb

Help needed. Was checking my storage capacity at the About this Mac and it says i have 63 gb of storage for application. What's weird is that it still say i have 95 gb of free storage out of 120gb. Apparently that 63 gb storage increases by 1.5 gb everytome i open garageband. I checked using omnisweeper and surprisingly it says i only used 22gb of my storage out of 120 gb. Tried uninstalling garageband but the storage for application does not decrease. Please do advise what should I do next.

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Mid 2014), OS X Yosemite (10.10.2)

Re-index Macintosh HD.

Spotlight reindexing will take a while to finish.

System Preferences > Spotlight > Privacy

http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2409

You will see a new category “Other” in the Storage Display.

Note:

If you don’t have Macintosh HD icon on the desktop,

Finder > Preferences > General > Show these items on the desktop:

Enable “Hard disks”.
