Go to the Apple Menu>About this Mac - clicking on the various tabs and buttons on the window that appears should give you all the information you need.

There are Support pages that do show where to locate serial numbers

and other information, depending on which product you have, different

pages exist to direct you to find more hardware model information.

To correctly identify the computer build type model series year etc.

would be helpful if you randomly ask a question about a 'computer'.

The model numbers may cover a wide range of years with less

detail for your specific computer build model identifier series.
