You seem to have installED iTunes and are trying to connect your iDevice, is that right?

Your statement - "installING" - also might indicate that you have insufficient privileges in Windows to properly install & use iTunes.

I have an iPad and iPhone.

When I connect them to laptop it only lets me do photo transfers.

I have no iTunes program installed on my laptop now.

I did have iTunes working on my laptop

I did an update,

I got an error message telling me to reinstall iTunes

i did this after uninstalling the one I had That used to work

Now I get the error message that you have already read

Hi Tishsha

I had a very similar problem with my last update of iTunes 12.1.xx, It Failed to install! I also got the same error message too "Apple mobile device service fail to start" The installation then aborts. After some online research I uninstalled iTunes [and you MUST follow very specific, complete uninstall instructions provided by Apple but I no longer have the link to the instructions, sorry] but! it worked! after that I reinstalled with no problem!

Good Luck!

Fredy
