Gmail and iMessage

I have noticed that my ability to receive iMessages using my gmail account has disappeared. I've tried to add it back but it doesn't work on my iPhone, iPad or my iMac. It ways that it's sending a verification email, but I never receive it. I have checked spam folders and "All Mail" and find nothing. I tried to add my Yahoo mail account and it worked as advertised. Does anyone have any ideas? It sounds like it could be a problem with my Google account.

I use OS X Yosemite and iOS 8.2

Thanks!

iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.2), iOS 8.2

Hello wkuehner,

That is strange that you have not received the email. To make sure we are clear, you are trying to activate iMessage but you also need to activate your Apple ID. I would take a look at the articles below to troubleshoot both issues with activating iMessage and getting the email to activate your Apple ID. If you are still stuck and not get it to show back up, then I would tell you to contact Apple Support.

If you get an error when trying to activate iMessage or FaceTime

If you didn't receive your verification or reset email

Thanks for your reply, Norm.

I have tried all the things suggested in both the Apple Support postings to no avail on any of my devices. The email just doesn't show up, with no explanation. I've scoured my Gmail account, including junk mail and trash. I have no rules (or filters, as Google calls them) which would send such an email elsewhere. I'm stumped.
