Q: Display does not rotate to current orientation when turned on
The setting: iPhone is in landscape mode viewing Mail, Messages, Calendar, or other third-party apps including for example Kindle. Phone is turned off using the side switch or otherwise goes to sleep.
The problem: When turned back on in portrait mode, display remains in landscape mode.
Workaround: Phone must be manually rotated to landscape and back to portrait for it to recognize that it needs to be in portrait mode.
Are others aware of or experiencing this same problem? Any idea for a solution?
System: iPhone 6, iOS 8.1.3.
