Q: Losing Notifications

With two different models of iPad at home with one iMac and an MacBook as well as an iPhone 5s, when notifications hit, I hear about it all over the house.  If I am lucky, and I am near one of my devices and read it before it disappears.  Sometimes if I do not have my glasses on, it vanishes before i can decipher it or find and put on my glasses.

If the notification were a message, I can open the message app on one of these devices and my message is there for an extended time.  So I am good.  However, if the notification is from an app (such as a news app), it appears for 5-10 seconds before it is wiped out.  My only choice now is to open every news app on my device (about 5-6 apps) and check for new headlines I haven't seen.

Some of the apps other than the usual news apps I have installed send notifications which display for a short time and then vanish.

My question is there somewhere on my iOS device or MAC system or on the network where I can retrieve these messages once they complete being displayed?

Thanks

    Hi bkitchin,

Thank you for participating in the Apple Support Communities.

It sounds like you want to locate past notifications that have appeared on your Mac or iOS devices.

Have you checked Notification Center to see if these app notifications appear there?

Mac Basics: Notifications keep you informed - Apple Support

With Notification Center, you can see all of your notifications at a glance. To open Notification Center, click its icon in the menu bar, or swipe left with two fingers from the right edge of your trackpad.

All of your recent notifications are listed in the Notifications tab. You can quickly respond to outstanding messages or emails directly from the Notifications tab. You can also click a notification to open its related app.

You can access your Alerts and Banners Notifications from any screen, including the Lock screen. Just swipe down from the top of the screen. You can also tap a notification in the Lock screen to open the related app.

    All the best,
