Upgrading MBP RAM and CPU?

If your computer shipped with 1067mHz RAM, do not use other spec RAM. The CPU can not be upgraded.

Your model uses 1066/7 MHz DDR3 SO-DIMMs. Do not try using other modules spec'd differently as they may not work.

You cannot upgrade the CPU. They are soldered to the motherboard and are not replaceable.

1, No. You must use that RAM cards that are called for in that Mac. It will most likely not run with anything else.

2, Since the CPU in a MBP is sobered in, you can't change it.

The amount of RAM you can use depends on which model you have, but it needs to be the correct spec. In this case 1066mHz.

Use the same speed that came in the MBP.

Anything else most likely will not work and if it does the memory controller was able to downgrade to the speed is needs. A faster RAM cards is not going to make your MBP any faster.

If your model is using 1066/7 MHz RAM, then that's what you want. If you put in faster RAM you run into these issues:

1. The RAM will work OK. But there won't be any speed increase because the speed in your computer is determined by the memory controller not by the memory modules.
2. The RAM will work, but not reliably because it expects certain clock pauses to enable the computer to stay in sync with the module.
3. The RAM won't work at all and will kernel panic.

There is no benefit from trying to use faster spec'd RAM. Don't waste your time or money.
