Why can't I see who is in group text?

my mother in law sends group texts to me and my husband, however it does not show up on my phone as agroup message And we can't see who else she sent it to although our phones go off at the same moment. when my husband or I respond, onlynshe gets the message..we think.. Any idea why this is??
